The most successful poker player that the United Kingdom & Ireland has ever produced, Sam Trickett, has recently announced, on Twitter, that he will be joining the International Stadiums Poker Tour (ISPT) as an official Ambassador. He joins fellow all-time money list top ten placed pro, Michael “the Grinder” Mizrachi, who announced his intention to also become an ISPT figurehead, just a few weeks ago.
“i just want to announce that I will be an @ispt_poker official ambassador. Will be one of the Biggest tournaments ever held May 31, 2013? – Sam Trickett tweeted.
The International Stadiums Poker Tour (ISPT) is a vision taken straight from the minds of Bernard Tapie, Laurent Tapie and Prosper Masquelier. The concept is to create an annual poker event for fans of companies such as Unibet that breaks all attendance records. Each year a different world-famous stadium will be selected to host the tournament and the inaugural event will take place in Wembley Stadium, England, United Kingdom. It is anticipated that it will become the biggest poker tournament in the world, consisting of over 30,000 players, creating a prize pool of over $20,000,000 and there are plans to broadcast the event to more than 28 countries.
Wembley Stadium has a 90,000 all-seater capacity and the schedule will be for players to participate in the stadium on their own laptops in an online event, before the remaining 3,000 players settle their differences with a live game of poker. With the inaugural event kicking of in Wembley on May 31, 2013, it is only fitting that an Englishman joins the ISPT as a figurehead of the competition.
