I’m always on the lookout for new Apps that are compatible with my Mac equipment. I am NO tech nerd. In fact, quite the opposite (just ask anyone in my family).
So it has to be easy to install and easy to use. Enter Poker Buddies 1.o, which lets players challenge their friends to multiple, simultaneous one-on-one Texas hold ’em games online, on Facebook or on their iPhone or iPad.
Now the really cool part.
It’s available as a free download from the iTunes(R) App Store.
When a player first enters the game, he/she can invite friends to play via e-mail, Facebook, Twitter, or choose to challenge a random opponent to a match.
After that, the goal of Poker Buddies is simple: knock out your opponent by taking all of his/her chips.
Each match is a one-on-one, winner take all game of tournament rules Texas hold’em that does not end until all chips are in a single player’s possession.
Because Poker Buddies is a turn-based game, you can play multiple matches simultaneously against different opponents.
There are two features that I think set Poker Buddies aside from the multitude of other poker apps available through iTunes.
The first feature is that you can log-in and play two different ways: via an iPhone or iPad, by visiting the game’s website. This gives players the ability to customize their experience by choosing exactly how and when they log on and play throughout the day.
The other major feature is that players earn points with each match they win, and these points will register them to possibly win any number of real world prizes ranging from gift cards to HDTVs. To make things even better, players will also earn Career High Roller Points which can be redeemed for instant win prizes.
So, why not give it a try? And (most importantly), get back to me and let me know what YOU think. Does it suck? Does it live up to the hype? Your opinion is just as important as mine.
