He’s done it again. For the second time.
Ukrainian poker pro Aleksandr Dovzhenko has won the Mediterranean Poker Cup Main Event 2010, taking out a worthy field of 153 players over three days.’
His winnings are €104,700 (or about $136,485 USD).
Dovzhenko’s win in Cyprus represents his second biggest prize ever and he has now managed to amass around $834,708 throughout his live tournament career.
Not too shabby.
Dovzhenko said: “This is the best tournament I’ve ever played. I’m glad I won for sure but the organization all week has been fantastic and the hotel and surroundings are world class. It’s a beautiful place and I’m already looking forward to the next Poker Club Management event.”
It was a $2,500 buy in.
By the time the heads-up phase of the tournament had been reached, Dovzhenko found himself up against Russia’s Gutkin Maksim.
Poker Club Management Artur Voskanjan summed it up: “It’s been a fantastic week of poker here in Cyprus. We couldn’t have asked for more – the weather was perfect, the hotel was great value offering a world class spa, wonderful food and lots of fun entertainment and congratulations to Aleksandr, he’s a very worthy winner.”
