European Poker Tour’s Main Event Moved to Madrid, Spain This Year

I think this is pretty cool.

PokerStars (we all know and love them) is setting it’s European Poker Tour Grand Final in Madrid, Spain.

It is, of course, the culmination of the season and it will start May 7 at the Casino Gran Madrid, and run to May 12. In euros, the festival will feature the 10,000 and 600 euros main event AND the 25,000 euros High Roller.

I definitely want to be there to see that. [If I can catch a cheap flight to Spain…a big if, you know.]

The big event has previously been in Monte Carlo.

EPT chief executive John Duthie said, “It is with the greatest pleasure that we are able to announce Casino Gran Madrid as the new venue for the EPT Grand Final. We wanted somewhere new, dynamic and inspiring, and knew that Madrid would tick all the boxes for the traveling poker player, regardless of age or desires.

“The same familiar team will be running the event and the schedule will, I am sure, provide something for everyone. All the usual qualifying satellites will be held on PokerStars.com and other regional versions of the site, giving all players of all nationalities the opportunity to join us in launching from our new home. Hasta la vista!”

The site has also announced the Italian leg will run from Apr. 27 to May 3 at Casino San Remo.
