$50,000 buyin HORSE tournament

A few posts back I was talking about what games the top pros play and I said: The WSOP used to host a HORSE tournament, but that hasn’t been in rotation for some time, and some of the pros are asking for it back.

Well guess what! I was reading CardSquad and read taht Harrah’s Entertainment has announced the addition of a new $50,000 buyin HORSE tournament in this years upcoming WSOP. They also formed a player advisory board to help make future decisions that benefit the players.

The board members include Jesus Ferguson, Daniel Negreanu, Jennifer Harman, Scotty Nguyen, Howard Lederer, and Robert Williamson. They will help the WSOP enhance player’s experiences in the tournaments.

For more on this and the future of the world series check out this article from CardPlayer. Can you imagine a pro-filled HORSE tournament aired on TV? That will be badass. This is the first tournament at the WSOP to have a buyin over the main event’s $10,000, can’t wait to see the results!

I've been playing poker for almost four years now (well before it was legal for me, woops!) Besides poker I enjoy playing the guitar and I'm very enthusiastic about pursuing Dentistry as a career. I'm currently at The Ohio State Univeristy studying Microbiology, living with three of my close friends. I'm dating a lovely girl from Australia and am looking forward to the oppurtunity to study abroad over there as well.

  1. Not sure they’ll air more than the final table on TV – and I heard that might be a hold ’em only final table for TV purposes.
